I lived in Ecuador for a while... ages ago. A few weeks ago I was asked to host 2 guests from Ecuador at HAAGA-HELIA, as part of an official visit organized by the Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture. This is when I heard about the Yachay city of knowledge, a groundbreaking, ambitious and innovative project with a cutting edge university due to welcome its first students in the beginning of next year.
Interested or just curious to see what a small, not much spoken about South American country can achieve ? Check the video...
Thanks for sharing! I changed the link to an embedded video.

thanks! Much more inviting that way!
DeleteThank you, David. I checked the info about Equador, they say it is a country with friendly locals and minbdblowing attractions. I wonder what the crime rate is in general? Like in Venezuela, it would be challenging to come up with such a project, to my mind.

You're welcome. The crime rate in those days (97-98) was relatively lower than in other Latin American countries. Carlos could tell more about Venezuela. I've never been there myself but I know that Caracas doesn't enjoy a good reputation in terms of security. Then again the situation might have improved and remember it's just one city in a big country. In most countries security is always an issue in big cities. Let me know if you have the chance to go to Ecuador and I'll give you a few tips. David
